You know, when you really think about it, music is a constantly evolving thing. Although harmonic progressions in popular music have remained the same since the time of Mozart, some composers of music like Richard Wagner, Aaron Copland, and Igor Stravinsky did not lock themselves into these restrictions.

Notice today's Google Doodle of the birthday of piano creator Bartolomeo Cristofori. I am most definitely in awe with people who compose music. I got the set of Music Theory and Analysis Book and Workbook for Christmas last year and 'should' create some time to go through it. And then... maybe when I learn to 'play' again can I tap into that hidden creativity.

But actually creating a musical instrument such as a piano? That's mind staggering to me... It must have begun with some accident or something playful. Something along the lines of the following quote from "Surely you're joking, Mr. Feynman" by Richard Feynman. (Dr. Feynman was a Nobel Prize-winning physicist who, among other things, worked on the first atomic bomb at Los Alamos, NM. He died in 1988.)
